Our famous “8-hour” curry sauce story...
Curry arrived in Japan sometime during the Meiji period(1868 - 1912). Surprisingly, the recipe arrived not from India but from England as India was an English colony. Japanese curry was therefore seen as “Western” food and developed under the influence of Western cooking methods.
For many, Japanese curry has become one of Japan’s national dishes. Here at Tsuru we use 16 ingredients and an 8-hour cooking process to produce a flavour-packed, aromatic sauce.
